LAX Terminal 1 welcomes Marathon Burger and Kogi BBQ as part of dining upgrade

Date 29.10.2026

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) has opened its first airport location of Marathon Burger alongside a new outlet for Kogi BBQ in Terminal 1, bringing two well-known Los Angeles food brands to travellers.

The openings mark the first phase of a wider programme to refresh more than 25 dining and retail locations across Terminals 1, 2, 3, 6 and the Tom Bradley International Terminal.

Marathon Burger, founded under the legacy of late entrepreneur Nipsey Hussle, serves made-to-order Wagyu smash burgers with house-made Fresno peppers and its signature sauce. The Terminal 1 outlet also offers fries, hot wings, cocktails and breakfast options. A pop-up shop selling Marathon merchandise has opened alongside the restaurant.

Kogi BBQ, co-founded by chef Roy Choi in 2008, brings its Korean-Mexican street food concept to the airport. Its Terminal 1 menu includes signature tacos, burritos and quesadillas, complemented by a full bar.

The new outlets are part of a collaboration involving Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), ASUR Airports and concessions operator Concord Collective, which aims to give passengers a stronger taste of the city’s food culture through locally established brands.

Since taking over the Terminal 1 food court programme in 2021, Concord Collective has focused on introducing Los Angeles-based restaurants and retailers to the airport.

The dining and retail improvements form part of ongoing efforts to enhance the passenger experience at LAX ahead of the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
