Italian-inspired pizza, pasta and burgers in a welcoming and cosy setting. On Wednesday, Stockholm Arlanda Airport’s latest addition, Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof, was officially opened at the Marketplace in Terminal 5, marked with a special gathering, ribbon-cutting ceremony, speeches and various festivities.

In attendance were representatives from Nordrest, which owns and operates the restaurant, as well as celebrity chef Pontus Frithiof, who is overseeing the concept and the menu. Taking a look at the latter, our passengers will find everything from bread rolls filled with delicious charcuterie to salads, Italian pastries and classic Italian dishes such as pizza and pasta. At Little Italy, guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner or just take a seat for snacks and drinks. The restaurant offers a welcoming and cosy environment, with affordable food of consistently high quality. The entire range is also ideal as a take-away.

“We are delighted to welcome Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof to the Marketplace, as it brings even greater variety to the food range we offer to our passengers. In developing the commercial offering at Arlanda, we have listened to our passengers and one of the things they have asked for is a broad range of restaurants offering flavours from all over the world and meeting different needs. Passengers should be able to sit and eat in an inspiring environment, but also have the option of choosing something from a grab ‘n’ go range to take with them on their journey. Whatever our passengers prefer, or their wallets allow, we always strive to provide good quality and a strong feeling of value for money. Little Italy ticks so many of these boxes,” says Charlotte Ljunggren, Chief Commercial Officer at Swedavia.

The food at Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof is prepared on site by experienced chefs, who aim to serve up the dishes within 5–7 minutes. The restaurant has a broad target group and offers something for both the business traveller and the group of friends and, in particular, the family with children who are looking to begin their journey with a high-quality, relaxed alternative.

“Little Italy will be the fifth restaurant we have opened at Arlanda, and we see it as a strong, high-quality element of the fast food selection that is needed here. It represents an exciting addition for passengers and is a concept we strongly believe in,” says Thomas Dahlstedt, CEO and founder of Nordrest.

Since 2015, Thomas Dahlstedt and Pontus Frithiof, owner and founder of Pontus Group, have worked closely together. The forms of cooperation have varied over time, but in recent years a franchise arrangement has been formed, where Nordrest is a contracting party and is responsible for the operation of Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof. Pontus sets his signature by designing concepts and menus with quality and sensitivity.

Little Italy by Pontus Frithiof opened on 19 November at the Marketplace in Terminal 5. It is open daily 06:00–22:00.

About the Marketplace
The Marketplace is Arlanda’s largest ever investment in shopping, food and drink. Once everything is completed around the turn of the year 2024/2025, the Marketplace will offer some 40 new restaurants and shops in an area covering approximately 11,000 square metres. The design has a particularly Scandinavian feel and incorporates wood panels with soft shapes to create a pleasant atmosphere. The Marketplace offers something for everyone, with a wide range of options and prices.
