New fine dining restaurant at Arlanda's Marketplace

Swedavia is continuing to develop its offering at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The restaurant La Girafe by Pontus Frithiof has finally opened at the airport. The restaurant, which is based in multicultural Paris, offers a pleasant atmosphere in two sections, Bistro and Food & Bar, which has the airport’s largest bar counter and many dishes on the menu.

The bistro concept La Girafe is star restaurateur Pontus Frithiof’s interpretation of multicultural Paris. In La Girafe’s DNA, passion and craftsmanship meet with playfulness and curiosity, which is reflected in everything from menus and service to atmosphere and interior. From early morning, breakfast á la carte is served in the bistro and a generous breakfast buffet in the food bar, after which you can choose from a large selection of small dishes, starters, main courses and desserts. The menus are composed to make it easy to choose and for a quick service. The foundation is flavorful classic French gastronomy inspired by exotic flavours from Vietnam, Morocco and New Orleans. La Girafe’s classic signature dishes, such as Vietnamese spring rolls, Nems, steak tartare “Moroccan Beef Tartar Butcher Style” and veal schnitzel are regular items on the menu.

– In our strategy for the commercial offering at Stockholm Arlanda, we asked for a fine dining concept for those passengers who want something out of the ordinary, and La Girafe will offer just that. The restaurant offers several different concepts that we hope will suit all travellers. It is eagerly awaited that La Girafe is now opening in the Marketplace in Terminal 5, says Charlotte Ljunggren, director of marketing and sales at Swedavia.

At La Girafe there are dishes to order for breakfast, all-day brunch, lunch and dinner. The range on the menu is wide and the dishes are described in detail to make it simple and appeal to all travellers. The food is prepared “a la minute” with the goal that the guest should be able to get the food within 15 minutes. Some dishes on the a la carte menu are prepared as express dishes and are served faster for those travellers who are in a hurry.

Since 2015, Pontus Frithiof, owner and founder of Pontus Group, and Thomas Dahlstedt, founder and principal owner of Nordrest, have worked closely together. The forms of cooperation have varied over the years, but in recent years a franchise arrangement has been formed, where Nordrest is a contracting party and is responsible for the operation of La Girafe. Pontus sets his signature and DNA by designing concepts and menus with quality, creating visibility and sensitivity towards the guests.

– We at Nordrest are proud and happy that we have now opened our fourth unit at Arlanda. We look forward to offering an exciting concept that adds something extraordinary for Stockholm Arlanda’s passengers,” says Michael Bühring, CEO of Nordrest restaurants.
