SAA joins hands with InterContinental Hotel to build new terminal complex

Shanghai International Airport Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Shanghai Airport Authority, formally signed a cooperation agreement on Dec 16 with its four partners–the world’s leading hotel group, InterContinental Hotels, top domestic commercial development group Shenzhen Excellent Group, Shanghai Yukong Hotel Management Co, and Shanghai Masteck Environment Co – to work together on a terminal complex project at Pudong International Airport.

The complex will be located between the T1 and T2 terminals in walking distance to connect the two terminals. Expected to be put into use in 2024, the complex will integrate overnight accommodation for passengers, commercial facilities for the terminals, catering services and comprehensive office functions.

The overnight accommodation segment will be operated by InterContinental Hotels Group, and the integrated commercial office segment will be operated by the Shenzhen Excellent Group.
