The cohesion of the airport community is the key to development - Budapest Airport presents its annual partner award

Budapest Airport held its traditional annual partner meeting on 4 March. At the award ceremony, the company honoured airport authorities, service providers and partners who have contributed to the high-quality operation of the airport over the past year, through their cooperation, outstanding service, growth or exemplary sustainability initiatives.

Budapest Airport honoured its partners who provided outstanding support in 2024 at its annual partner meeting. At the award ceremony, the airport operator presented awards to 17 partners in 6 categories. This year, the company created a special category for partners who provided outstanding support to Budapest Airport during the 2024 EU presidency summit, in receiving representatives arriving for the event and in preparing and securing Terminal 1.

Máté Lóga, chairman of the Board of Directors of Budapest Airport said at the event: “It is a strategic goal for the Government of Hungary to make Budapest Airport not only a piece of transport infrastructure, but also the pulse of economic policy, including logistics and tourism. This requires a high-quality passenger transport and air cargo ecosystem. We are relying heavily on VINCI Airports and the expertise and dedication of all our partners present here to create this.”

“When the Hungarian government reacquired Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, it chose VINCI Airports, the world’s leading private airport operator, as its partner. VINCI Airports has extensive experience in airport management and working with public partners in many countries,” – said Emmanuel Menanteau, area director for US, Northern & Eastern Europe and South-East Asia, VINCI Airports, member of the Board of Directors of Budapest Airport Zrt. – “Our main task in Budapest right now is capacity development, which we are carrying out in collaboration with the Hungarian government, utilizing both expertise and financial investment. We believe that we will achieve significant successes in the short term, as well as in the long term, providing a more sophisticated, modern and dynamically developing airport for the Hungarian people and for Hungary.”

“As the new owners of Budapest Airport, the government and VINCI Airports are working together closely to maximise the amazing potential of Budapest and Hungary” – said Francois Berisot, the CEO of Budapest Airport. He added: “At the same time, the airport is an ecosystem that we form together with our partners. It is our shared expertise, experience and cooperation that enables us to achieve our goal to make Ferenc Liszt International Airport a worthy gateway to this fantastic country. It is this joint work and cohesion that we are celebrating today.”

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the opening of the airport, Budapest Airport is organising a series of anniversary events, which the company launched during the evening with its partners, the representatives of the airport community.
