Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery, involving the recruitment, transportation and control or influence over a person’s movements to exploit them. This course will equip you with an understanding of the key issues and challenges airports face regarding human trafficking and provide the knowledge and tools to raise awareness and combat it within your airport.
With over 43.5 million victims trapped in modern slavery almost 1 million are trafficked every year, this includes in, around and across countries.
In airports where our courses have been conducted, there has been a marked increase in awareness of human trafficking. Our training has also been instrumental in saving the lives of several victims who might otherwise have been lost to society. Our organization supports and encourages all airports to implement Anti-Human Trafficking awareness programs.
This course is designed for all aviation staff, in particular those that will be directly working with passengers including, but not limited to,
- Assisted Travel/PRM assistance staff
- Check-in
- Airport Security
- Border Protection Personnel
- Flight crew
- Terminal Cleaning staff
- Management
DESCRIPTION
Our Anti-Human Trafficking sessions are designed to spark group conversations about potential aviation-related scenarios. These interactive sessions encourage staff to contribute their ideas, fostering a deeper understanding of the issue. Real-life cases will be discussed to illustrate the ease of entrapment. The content is crafted by our trainers, who collaborate with both the UK and Welsh Governments to combat human trafficking, and includes factual accounts from the airport passenger environment. The material is continuously updated to reflect new developments and ideas.
