iPort DCS for Ground Handlers

Description
Specifications

iPort DCS is a web-based Departure Control System, actively used in more than 300 airports, serving over 100 ground handlers globally. The system has extensive functionality, all accessible through a graphical user interface, that caters for both point-to-point and hub carriers, charter and scheduled carriers, low-cost and full-service carriers. It is delivered as a turn-key solution whereby Res2, the creator of iPort DCS, takes care of the implementation and configuration of the system. This allows the customer to manage the DCS in-house with minimal overhead. There is a 24/7 support office that delivers qualitative and fast responses.

The user can access the system from any device at any location, connected over Internet or a closed-circuit line with minimum bandwidth. iPort DCS is certified for all major common-use platforms (SITA, Arinc, Resa, ACUS, TAV and more) and has vast experience in working in non-common-use environments to the extent that Res2 can provide a mobile check-in counter when no infrastructure is available.

With regards to functionality, iPort DCS offers ground handlers an efficient tool to monitor their operations. Actions are logged and data is collected which allows the handler to analyse and improve the operations. Flights are created automatically, or in a few clicks time, also for ad hoc and diversion flights. Carriers previously unknown to the handler can be added instantly by the iPort DCS support desk as part of the service. The system provides useful tools to import and edit PNL/ADL, if the carrier would not submit those automatically or if the quality of the messages is poor. The messaging back to the carrier, the handler or the authority can go over teletype or e-mail. iPort DCS also offers functionality and connectivity for APIS, iAPI and other forms of security messaging. The configuration and certification is done by Res2. On the weight & balance side, the system supports click & drop load planning, automated loading restrictions, a logged chat functionality between the ramp agent and load controller, just to name a few. This also allows the handler to use iPort DCS for centralized load control operations.

The system is updated every 3 weeks with new functionality. The deployment of the new version is done remotely without any effort or investment required from the customer. Communication with other airport applications is part of the scope. The focus is to maximize automation for the convenience of the handler, the airport, and their airline customers.

Thanks to the user-friendliness, a complete train-the-trainer training for passenger handling, load control and back office usage is done in only 3 days.
