Joint Sealing

Description

Jointline’s airfield joint sealing capabilities encompass a comprehensive range of services designed to maintain the integrity and functionality of both asphalt and concrete surfaces. These services are essential in new or existing construction joints, ensuring that they are filled and sealed appropriately to withstand various environmental and operational challenges.

Hot Applied N1 and N2 Sealants: Jointline utilises hot applied N1 and N2 sealants, which are particularly employed on highways, airfields, and car parks. These sealants are fully compliant with BS EN14188-1 standards, offering excellent expansion and contraction properties. They are adept at preventing damage from water and dirt and can be applied quickly and efficiently at any time of the year. Their rapid curing time minimises disruption to traffic or users of the treated area.

Cold Applied Fuel Resistant Joint Sealants: For areas prone to fuel spillages, such as aircraft fuelling zones, oil terminals, garage forecourts, parking, and cargo areas, Jointline applies a fuel-resistant sealant using a cold application method. These sealants retain excellent contraction and expansion properties, providing joint protection from water, dirt, and crucially, substances like kerosene, petrol, and aircraft fuel.

Specialist Saw Cutting Equipment: Jointline’s capabilities extend beyond mere sealing. With specialist saw cutting equipment, we can:

  • Create joints in new or green concrete to manage expansion and contraction.
  • Chase out existing concrete cracks, sealing or overbanding them.
  • Reform existing joints to effectively reapply sealant.

These services collectively contribute to the surface’s ability to tolerate expansion and contraction, protect the joint from water damage, and prevent failure due to other surface applications such as de-icer or surface spillages.

Jointline’s airfield joint sealing capabilities represent a robust and versatile solution for maintaining the structural integrity and safety of road surfaces. By employing both hot and cold applied sealants, along with specialised equipment, Jointline ensures that the joints are treated with the utmost precision and care, adhering to the highest standards of quality and compliance. Whether it’s airside on a busy runway, or landside in a commercial car park, Jointline’s expertise in joint sealing provides a resilient and long-lasting solution tailored to the specific needs and challenges of the area.
