National Enforcement Body inspectors training course on application of legal requirements and recommended practices concerning the rights of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility when travelling by air

This training course is designed for national enforcement bodies to implement the legal framework regarding the rights of passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility when using air transport. Part of this enforcement involves conducting assessments and audits on assistance provision services, airport accessibility, airline compliance with transportation requirements, medical equipment, mobility equipment, and more. National enforcement bodies play a crucial role in ensuring all passengers have equal rights in air travel.

GOAL

To build high level knowledge of requirements set out in EC 1107/2006 and ECAC DOC 30, Part 1, Section 5 providing necessary tools for quality airport and airline assessments.

 COURSE OBJECTIVES

 This course will include and teach you how to:

  • Understand and interpret in details aspects of current Assisted Travel/PRM assistance legal and best practice documents illustrated by case studies.
  • Assess quality standards of an airport (service level agreements to third parties; data collection of Assisted Travel/PRM assistance provision; level of satisfaction monitoring tools; means of monitoring on time performance, etc.).
  • Assess airport calculated PRM assistance charge (calculation; cost-related and transparent clause; reporting).
  • Evaluate processes in place concerning all Assisted Travel/PRM assistance stages at an airport.
  • Assess training standards of airports, Assisted Travel/PRM providers and airlines.
  • Analise complaints and claims received from passengers.
  • Assess legal requirements towards airlines and Ground Handling providers.
  • Fast growing demand of PRM assistance demand.
  • Measurement of Assisted Travel/PRM assistance more efficiency.

Disability awareness covering, including ways how to observe assistance of PRM      assistance provider and spot good and bad behaviours/application of these skills:

PREREQUISITES
Good knowledge and understanding of Assisted Travel/PRM assistance operations

CERTIFICATE
A certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the final examination to those participants obtaining a grade of 80% or higher.
