Elevating women in aviation: 25by2025

The 25by2025 initiative, spearheaded by IATA, is a global campaign aimed at enhancing female representation in the aviation sector. Its objective is clear yet ambitious: to boost the number of women in senior positions and under-represented areas of the aviation industry by 25%, or up to a minimum of 25%, by 2025.

Jane Hoskisson, Director of Talent, Learning, Engagement and Diversity at IATA, explains: “By committing to 25by2025, all the signatories play a critical role in making aviation truly diverse and inclusive. I’m pleased to see Ink Innovation embark on this journey along with 200 signatories, and I congratulate them on making diversity, equity and inclusion a key component of their business strategy.”

Reflecting on the progress so far, the initiative has seen encouraging results. From 2021 to 2022, signatories of the initiative counted over 1,000 new female pilots, an increase of 25%. Additionally, there was a growth of 28% of women in senior roles, compared to 24% in 2021. While many organisations have already reached their 25by2025 targets, the journey towards full gender parity continues.

Jane Hoskisson highlights the broader impact of these efforts: “DE&I also drives innovation, improves decision making, and contributes to long-term business sustainability. These best practices provide a starting point for improvement no matter where you are in your journey.”

Diversity and transparency in our DNA

At Ink, we are committed to promoting diversity and gender equality in the industry. We have women in key leadership positions who are driving our success. We will maintain transparency in our progress and share annual updates on our advancements. We look forward to collaborating with other industry leaders to learn from their experiences and achieve our goals together.
