One of the biggest challenges for winter road clearance at airports is speed. The runways must be cleared of snow and ice as quickly as possible. The enormous areas of the apron, taxiway or runway require special clearing equipment with sophisticated technology.

High performance airport blower G2 – one vehicle for 2 applications
The new generation, Airport Snow Blower G2 offers the possibility to drive two different front attachments and proves that is state-of-the-art with its Intelligent Power Train (IPT) and new ECO mode.

Due to increasing demands and regulations at the world’s airports, Kahlbacher’s main intention was to drive two different front attachments with its G2. The High Speed Blower is particularly suited to clear runways at high speed and can be replaced with the Power Loader loading attachment. Thus equipped, every airport is prepared for all kinds of snow clearing tasks as well as the future – no matter what it might bring.

Rotary snow  blower
With its comprehensive rotary snow blower portfolio Tyrolean winter service equipment manufacturer Kahlbacher wins every battle against the snow.

From the smallest model, the KFS 650 cutter blower, to the KFS 1150 cutter blower, these variable performance snow cutters can be attached to the most diverse carrier vehicles.

The larger the auger and impeller wheel diameter, the higher the clearing capacity and thus, your capabilities in fighting massive volumes of snow.

Precise alignment of impeller and auger speeds are responsible for optimum discharge distances at maximum power utilisation. Snow is discharged via a rotary chute or – on the KFS 950 model and up – via the swivel-mounted impeller housing for increased clearing performance and higher discharge distances to the left or right. 

Snow power sweepers
In order to meet the high requirements at the airport, the main focus has been placed on high performance and excellent sweeping characteristics at high clearing speeds.

The ecologically valuable snow power sweeper, which removes even the last traces of snow from the airport operating areas and thus save expensive and environmentally damaging de-icing agents. They are also offered with a spreading unit.

The trailer version, which provides sufficient clearance for snow ejection and due to the available steering axle, it still offers a low turning radius and excellent directional stability. 

Snow ploughs

All snow ploughs are perfecty suitable for snow clearing on runways, also in combination with airport snow sweepers.

In accordance with the motto “Two are better than one”, the eco-clearing rail has become an indispensable part of an airport snow plough.

The additional rail ensures better mechanical clearing and higher clearing efficiency, which is particularly noticeable in the use of de-icing materials.

A further relief are the discharge stops which facilitate the snow clearing enormously. Unwanted snow heaps are collected with the closed discharge stops and then deposited at their destination.

Therefore, with a snow plough you can literally move mountains.
