PBB Upgrade & Automation

Dimaim Systems provides universal automation and upgrade/refurbishment Solutions that can be applied on the different PBB brands and manufacturers, thus turning existing PBBs at the airports in newly upgraded ones, simply by focusing on the controls and automation.

We have also great experience in providing our customers with an in-detail analysis of the mechanical and structural status of the PBBs, with the objective of determining the level of refurbishments or required upgrade on their existing PBB, in order to turn them into completely updated PBBs, but with the benefit of universality and reduced budget requirement, as well as allowing Airport Operations to benefit from on-site works requiring less unavailability / stand closure times.

Usually, our universal automation solution consists of the following scope of works: new PLC and HMI universal software and hardware, new main electrical cabinet with all required components designed according to the new architecture, which reduces the number of items, makes it easier for troubleshooting, and increase communications reliability and efficiency, new control panel and components.

As added options for the automation works, and depending on the status of each PBB, we can also incorporate the following scope of works: all control and power cables are substituted, optimizing the distribution and number of cables, new PBB electrical cabinets, with all wiring and location adapted to the new architecture, thus simplifying the distribution and access to the electrical cabinets for maintenance purposes, replacement of all sensors and detection systems, adapting them for a smooth operation and incorporating new regulations standards. Besides, all new components can be found off-the-shelf, easing the maintenance works.

As previously indicated, all our automation upgrades are aimed at providing the customer with a universal solution valid for the complete fleet or different PBBs they have at the airport.

We do also provide complete refurbishments that require PBBs to be dismounted and taken away from the airport, for which we use our factory in Germany or a specific location indicated by each customer. In these full refurbishments we undertake all structural, painting and mechanical upgrades.
