VHF & UHF Ground-to-Air Solutions

The TGX60 family radio base stations combine state-of-the art digital signal processing and are designed for local and remote control operation with serial interfaces and LAN connection capabilities (TG660) for voice recorders and remote control systems. The newly certified GT6201 transceiver platform, available with 6W and 10W carrier output power, is embedded within the TG660 base station and fulfills the latest applicable standards for ATC operations and is fully compatible with the 8.33 kHz channel spacing requirements. The TG560 legacy multichannel VHF Base Station is designed for ground to air communications with a 20W carrier output power (70W PEP @ 85% Modulation) and covers the standard frequency range from 118 to 137 MHz and optionally the extended frequency range from 118 to 156 MHz.
The new RS560 VHF-AM single channel receiver is designed for applications in ATC environments like control centers, airports and for airline company operations and complies with the 8.33 kHz channel spacing requirements. The RS560 receiver is fully synthesized and software configurable. 8 units of RS560 can be carried by a 19” 3HU sub-rack to replace the older BECKER RS 3910 models.

Becker provides solutions for small and medium-sized airfields or helicopter landing pads which require an automated, flexible and cost effective remote controllable lighting system. The LRC6201 (Lighting Radio Controller) is an airband VHF receiving system which can, without any additional facilities, remotely, comfortably and securely activate lighting, helping to maintain safe and efficient operations at airports, even where air traffic services are not available. Activation is done when the pilot hits the transmit key and features three different levels of lighting with a set of pulse sequences in accordance with ICAO recommendations. Thanks to its timer, the unit provides illumination for 15 minutes. The remote controlled receiver can be operated on specified frequencies. Frequency settings can be done by local staff, ensuring maximized airfield availability.
Automatic answering of radio calls at airfields and aviation platforms is often a valuable alternative for small and medium-sized facilities that wish to maintain broadcasting capability outside air traffic services duty hours. The Becker ARCAAS (Automatic Radio Call Answering & Announcement System) has been specifically designed for that reason. With an incoming radio call, as soon as the channel is free, a pre-recorded message is broadcasted on the specified frequency, the transmitter and the system then returning afterwards to standby mode. To send permanent announcements, the system can be configured so that the message is continuously repeated. System operation is controlled through the keyboard of the HCU 5202 handset. A pre-specified message can be accessed without simultaneous transmission. The built-in memory is suitable for messages of up to 4 minutes and is fully suitable for ATIS applications.
ADS-B Surveillance and Tracking Solutions
ADS-B makes flying significantly safer for the aviation community and paves the way for extended air traffic surveillance coverage, even in regions where radar pick-up is unavailable. Every ADS-B Out equipped aircraft and ground vehicle periodically transmits information about its identity, position, altitude, speed and status. Becker’s innovation in this field is called ATLASS: ADS-B Traffic Localization And Surveillance System.
Innovative ADS-B Situational Awareness Tools
ATLASS is a state-of-the-art stand-alone ADS-B traffic monitoring system that provides a recognized air and ground situation with a professional Human Machine Interface for various applications where mission-critical data are needed, at limited costs and with reduced numbers of system components. The system intends to integrate all basic functionalities needed by operators and is meant to be scalable and can be extended to meet user-specific requirements.
ATLASS combines a 1090 MHz ADS-B Sensor intended for outdoor installation with a Human Machine Interface hosting an air and ground situation display offered in 3 different all-in-one solution packages, focused on your operational requirements, scalable on demand with optional features:
- FLEET for flight tracking and fleet following
- AIR for aerodrome air traffic situational awareness
- SURFACE for airport ground traffic control
The addition of the BAV6215 vehicle transponder constitutes also an effective ground movement tracking tool. The BAV6215 unit is a compact and fully autonomous ADS-B transmitting sub-system intended for installation in ground vehicles operating in airport areas. The unit periodically reports the position and speed of the vehicle, thus providing valuable information for airport ground traffic management.
