- Electrically insulating material for AGL installations
- Used in combination with bedding mortar for stabilisation of the light base
cds-AGL BaseGrout UW flex is an FAA-compliant two-component epoxy grout (AC 150/5370-10, Item P-606) developed as a flexible alternative to standard BaseGrout systems for the installation of in-pavement Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) bases in asphalt pavements.
The system is designed for use in combination with a bedding mortar, which provides the primary stabilisation of the light base. The grout is applied as part of a controlled installation method and is not intended for full-depth grouting of the core drilling. In this system, the cds-AGL BeddingMortar provides the primary load transfer, while the grout completes the installation.
This approach allows the installation to accommodate the deformation behaviour of asphalt pavements, ensuring long-term performance under aircraft loading and thermal movement.
cds-AGL BaseGrout UW flex is used on runways, taxiways and aprons where AGL light bases are installed in asphalt pavements.
The grout is resistant to aviation fuels, de-icing chemicals and other substances commonly encountered in airside environments, and provides the required electrical insulation for AGL systems.
Climate-specific hardeners allow curing behaviour to be adapted to ambient temperature and available runway closure windows, enabling efficient installation during limited possession periods.
