FAA-compliant AGL grouting systems for airside pavements

cds -AGL Grouts provides FAA-compliant AGL grouting systems for airside pavements, designed to protect critical lighting infrastructure and maintain the structural integrity of runways, taxiways and aprons. Developed by cds Polymere, these engineered systems support safe and durable Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) installations with more than 60 years of proven performance at civil and military airports worldwide.

Airside pavements are exposed to extreme climatic, mechanical and chemical loads. The installation and replacement of AGL systems therefore require grouting materials capable of withstanding heavy aircraft loads, aviation fuels, de-icing agents and thermal movement while maintaining electrical insulation and dimensional stability. cds-AGL Grouts are specifically designed to manage these demanding airside conditions.

The portfolio includes two-component epoxy grouts and mortars for AGL installations in asphalt and concrete pavements. This comprises BaseGrout systems for the secure installation of in-pavement light bases, SlotRestore products for filling AGL cable slots and cable joints, and BeddingMortars for shallow bases and stabilisation layers. Each product is developed for quick, reliable and error-free application under real airside conditions, including limited runway possession windows.

cds-AGL Grouts include systems compliant with FAA AC 150/5370-10, Item P-606, as well as products developed based on these proven epoxy grout systems. These are suitable for projects designed in accordance with ICAO and EASA aerodrome requirements. Different hardener types allow curing times and temperature ranges to be adapted to local climate conditions. Virtually shrink-free formulations (shrinkage <0.1%) significantly reduce the risk of cracking, debonding and premature pavement damage.

To support airport sustainability targets, cds-AGL Grouts also offers eco variants containing bio-based carbon in the binder (≥15–21%), delivering measurable CO₂ reductions while maintaining the same proven durability and regulatory compliance.
