Results are immediately displayed either on your computer or, depending on the chosen Osmond model, on the device itself. Adaptive Recognition’s Authentication Checker software — provided with the device for free — immediately alerts users of forged documents. There is no need for a forgery expert with Osmond; it’s the user.
- It’s fully automated: Osmond reads ID data automatically and displays it in less than one 1 second. It recognizes special characters without problem.
- It reads all forms of ID data: Whether it’s MRZ or VIZ data on a passport, a barcode of a boarding card, or RFID chips of e-IDs, Osmond retrieves all necessary information and displays it in a format airport personnel can interpret.

And by using special illuminations — including white light, infrared, UV, and even oblique light — Osmond can analyze each layer of the identity document. Osmond even makes microprints visible thanks to its 700 ppi scanning resolution.
- It’s versatile: Osmond is available in 4 different configurations, each with its own unique set of features. Powering is offered in 3 options: external, USB-C, and PoE+. Regardless of the model and powering, Osmond devices can be used in desktop environments — i.e., at check-in desks — or built into Automated Border Control (ABC) e-gates.
- It’s durable: All Osmond models are manufactured on an automated assembly line and contain no moving parts. This, combined with the IP54-protected case, the IP68-compliant connectors, and the scratch-resistant glass, ensures steady operation for many years to come.
