The Simpleway Intelligent Voice Announcement System runs an airport’s spoken passenger announcements, from automated boarding and gate calls to live paging and emergency messages. It reads live flight data and speaks the right message, in the right zone, in the passenger’s language, without an operator chasing it.
Key benefits:
- Announcements trigger automatically from flight data, boarding calls, gate changes, and delays, with no operator involved
- Text-to-speech in 80+ languages that sounds natural, plus studio recordings by native speakers where you want them
- Speak once and reach passengers in several languages at once with speech-to-text and live translation
- Zone targeting plays a gate message only at that gate, not across the whole terminal
- Quiet-airport rules limit languages, repetitions, and hours automatically
- Every announcement is logged in a full paging history
How it works:
There are two ways to create voice content. Text-to-speech, built on Azure AI Speech, turns written flight data or typed text into natural-sounding announcements: write the text, adjust pronunciation and delivery in the speech editor, preview it, and deploy in minutes, and it updates automatically when flight data changes. Alternatively, Simpleway can produce studio recordings voiced by native speakers including niche ones such as Samoan and Tongan. Either way, our voice team configures pronunciation for your airport codes, airline names, and destinations during setup.
Announcements reach passengers several ways. Routine calls trigger automatically from flight events. Operators page live through microphone stations or push-to-talk, play a pre-configured announcement at one touch, or record an ad hoc message with noise suppression. Role-based interfaces such as GateUI and BaggageUI show each operator only their flights, and airline-specific templates give gate agents the right carrier’s messaging and branding.
You control where and how often announcements play. Zone targeting keeps a gate call at that gate, and language limits, repetition rules, and time windows enforce quiet-airport policy on their own, while allowing emergency overrides. Speech-to-text with live translation lets an operator speak once and send the message to displays and speakers in several languages at the same time. Visual paging puts announcement text on the FIDS screens, meeting ADA and ATPDR accessibility requirements.
The system handles more than flights: facility announcements, zoned commercial promotions, compliance reminders, and emergency broadcasts across every zone at once. A Prayer Call module schedules religious announcements by local practice, and a Background Music module plays any source with per-zone volume and automatic pausing during announcements.
The system is hardware neutral. It works as a standalone public address system or integrated with Cloud FIDS, sitting as an integration layer over your existing PA, connecting to Q-SYS, Bosch, BiAmp, Honeywell, and Ateïs over AES67, Dante, or analog. Optional nnounce hardware is available but not required.
- Voice generation: text-to-speech on Azure AI Speech (80+ languages); studio recordings by native speakers
- Speech editor: pronunciation control for airport codes, airline names, destinations; tone, rate, emphasis; live preview
- Speech-to-text and live translation: capture a live page, transcribe, translate to multiple languages, review and confirm, then display or display and broadcast
- Broadcast methods: automated from flight events, live paging via microphone stations, push-to-talk, pre-configured templates, ad hoc recording
- Audio quality: AI noise suppression on recording, ambient noise sensing on playback
- Zone control: zone targeting, language limits by destination, repetition and time-window rules
- Logging: full paging history of all announcements
- Accessibility: visual paging, speech-to-text to screen, ADA and ATPDR compliant
- Interfaces: role-based (GateUI, BaggageUI), airline-specific templates
- Additional modules: Prayer Call, Background Music (any source, per-zone volume, auto-pause during announcements)
- Integration: standalone or with Cloud FIDS; PA layer over Q-SYS, Bosch, BiAmp, Honeywell, Ateïs via AES67, Dante, analog; optional nnounce hardware
