San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is accepting proposals for its Pop-Up Retail Concession programme in Boarding Area E of its Terminal 3.
The opportunity follows the announcement earlier this year (May 2013) for a US$4.1bn (£2.7bn) 10-year capital improvement plan to improve infrastructure at the airport.
SFO is often the first or last impression travellers have of San Francisco and the airport seeks new concessions to maximise goods and services available to passengers, which reflect the offerings and flavours of the San Francisco Bay Area. The Airport Commission aims to maximise participation by local owners in the new programme and intends to feature local concepts.
This opportunity is comprised of two separate retail locations, each located in Boarding Area E of Terminal 3. The spaces will be move-in ready with fixtures provided, and will require minimal costs to start up. Successful proposers will be offered the opportunity to operate in one of the two locations with either a six month or one year agreement term.
These concessions are intended for the non-exclusive sale of retail merchandise reflective of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area. Proposals must be received no later than 2 August 2013, for the scheduled opening in January 2014.
