Bergamo has become the latest airport to introduce ‘sleeping facilities’ for weary passengers to rest up and relax.
The Italian gateway has created a dedicated space for resting and sleeping with its own secluded mini lounge, which it promises assures “total privacy”.
And for passengers who want to sleep for a few hours while waiting for their flight the airport has installed a handful of ZZZleepandGo ‘living pods’ which come complete with a bed, desk or work station.
The sound-proofed rooms also offer free WIFI, screen with updated flight schedules and USB/220V sockets to plug in and power up computers and recharge mobile phones and other equipment.
Visitors can book the pods remotely as well as directly at the airport using a special App or the computer, and paying with a credit, debit or prepaid card for an initial cost of €8 for the first hour and then €6 for each subsequent hour.
Bed linen is changed automatically when a new guest arrives, and the interior is sanitised and scented each time.
ZZZleepandGo has developed an iOS/Android App that the user can download and install for free on their smartphone or tablet to create and manage their account, access their billing history and make new reservations.
If the user has not downloaded the App, they may register on the website or directly on the device positioned on the outside wall of the pods.
