Business and financial information firm Bloomberg has opened its first Bloomberg Hub at London City Airport.

Designed for business travelers, the new hub offers a space for passengers to meet clients, negotiate deals and sales, network at industry conferences and perform other business related activities through an array of touchscreen technology and lounge spaces.

The 260m² (2,800ft²) lounge seats more than 180 travelers and is divided into distinct zones designed to enable travelers to work, relax, network and prepare for their day ahead.

Features of the lounge include: an Apps Bar with six touchscreen tablets loaded with Bloomberg’s suite of mobile apps; four Bloomberg terminals for use of subscribers to the Bloomberg Professional service; 24/7 Bloomberg television; 110 charging stations; free wi-fi; free shoe-shine and steam press service; and complimentary copies of Bloomberg’s magazines.

A Media Wall is the main centerpiece of the lounge and delivers travel information, market-moving news and analysis, relevant data, Bloomberg television and promotional content.

The hub also features a Media Panel located at the entry point to pre-security and passport control. The Media Panel consists of six 4K ultra-high-definition (UHD) 55inch digital screens with branded visual content and contextual messages that greet passengers as they approach security, tailored according to the time of day.

Additionally, the hub has two Media Tickers – one in the pre-security

zone, the other in the atrium beyond security – providing a stream of
digital media, electronic data and
visual information to passengers.

The new hub will cater for London City Airport’s 3.4 million passengers, the majority of which are business travelers.
