Chopin Airport welcomed 981,700 passengers in May 2012, the highest number ever for the month and a 14% growth year on year.

Following the airport’s most successful April, May this year was yet another record month for the airport, 13.3% up on its previous all time high reached in May 2008.

Much of this growth was thanks to record high domestic traffic, which stood at nearly 185,000 in May, a 95% surge year on year. The figure for the period from January to May was 590,000 (up 43.5%). In total, Chopin Airport handled more than 3.68 million passengers in the first five months of 2012 (up 9.5%).

Aircraft movements rose by 4.5%, reaching 13,200.
