Morpho Dectection, Inc.’s MobileTrace handheld explosives trace detection (ETD) system has been certified by the Service Technique de l’Aviation Civile (STAC) in France, which tests and certifies security technology and solutions for use at airports and transportation facilities in France.

STAC is the first global agency to certify the MobileTrace unit, which incorporates Morpho’s ITMS Ion Trap Mobility Spectrometry trace technology into a handheld device, enabling security personnel to reliably detect explosives and narcotics.

“Morpho Detection is thrilled that STAC has recognised the explosives detection and operational capabilities of MobileTrace by certifying it for use at airports and transportation facilities,” said Emmanuel Mounier, president and CEO, Morpho Detection International, Inc.

“MobileTrace reflects Morpho Detection’s commitment to developing solutions that give security personnel and airport operators the capabilities and mobility needed to protect travellers and plan for current and emerging threats. By deploying MobileTrace, airports can enhance operational efficiencies in the security screening process and increase return on investment (ROI) on security infrastructure investments.”
