The photovoltaic plant will consist of 792 panels covering an area of 4,000 sqm.

The solar power plant will produce 157 MWh of electricity which will be pumped directly into the Aéroports de Paris network.

The plant will mean savings of seven tonnes of CO2 per year.

Didier Hamon, environment and sustainability director at Aéroports de Paris, said: “Aéroports de Paris aims at becoming an example in the field of sustainable development.

“This new set-up confirms our ambition to develop a lasting relationship in a high quality manner with our stakeholders.

“The design work carried out in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority led to the use of polycrystalline solar panels containing special glass to limit optical reflection.”

As part of its strategic plan for 2011-2015, Aéroports de Paris intends to reduce its CO2 emissions by 25% compared to 2009 and reach the goal of 15% renewable energy in its internal energy consumption.
