The firm has reached an in-principle-agreement with Aéroports de Montréal (ADM).Under the agreement, which is for an initial 15-year period with three five-year renewal options, ADM will build and lease a facility customised to Aerolia’s needs.

Starting in January 2014, the 7,300sqm building will house the headquarters of Aerolia’s Canadian subsidiary as well as assembly shops.

The French company, a member of the EADS Group, will use the facility to produce the centre fuselage assembly for Bombardier Aerospace’s Global 7000 and 8000 business jets.

“We are very excited about the prospect of coming to Montréal–Mirabel because this site will provide us with an excellent environment for the success of the Aerolia group in Canada and its development in North America,” said Marie-Agnès Veve, CEO of Aerolia Canada.

For ADM, the agreement represents an investment of $9.5 million that will enable the creation of about 150 jobs in Montréal–Mirabel.

Montréal–Mirabel is already home to several major aerospace players, including Bombardier, Pratt & Whitney, L-3 MAS and Mecachrome.
