Passenger traffic and aircraft movements surged last month at Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Jordan.

Operator the Airport International Group (AIG) says numbers increased in September, compared to the same period in 2012.

The number of travellers rose by 2.8% reaching 561,205, up on the 545,941 last year.

Year-on-year traveller numbers also went up, hitting 4,969,779, compared to the 4,827,192 at the same time in 2012.

Aircraft movements increased by 1.89%in September to stand at 5,669 as opposed to the 5,564 recorded at the same time last year.
