Travellers to Göteborg Landvetter Airport will soon be able to check-in even smoother as 12 self-service bag drop machines from Norwegian DSG will be installed in the check-in hall in the Spring.

The technology gives passengers the opportunity to check their baggage on to the aircraft using an intuitive graphic display, operator Swedavia says, and aims to reduce queues and provide a smoother flow at the gateway.

Charlotte Ljunggren, airport director at Göteborg Landvetter, explains: “This gives our passengers a greater opportunity to manage their time when they are going to travel.

“Our hope is that it will reduce queues and provide a smoother flow at the start of the trip.

“This is a natural step forward when the ability to self check in and receive their boarding card via various mobile solutions is common among airlines. Now even the baggage handling possible to control yourself, if you want to.”

DSG Systems has delivered a 100 SBD solutions to eight different countries and is one of the leading suppliers in Europe.

Idar Sörgjerd, managing director at DSG, says: “DSG Systems is well acquainted with Swedavia's airports after previous deliveries of our systems, and we are very excited to now be working with Göteborg Landvetter Airport.”
