AirSight Announces Aeroscope Buy-Back Initiative to Modernize Drone Detection
New program offers a 10,000 credit to upgrade legacy DJI Aeroscope units to the fully supported, Remote ID–ready AirGuard Essential platform.

For years, DJI Aeroscope served as a primary tool for identifying DJI drones, but with production discontinued and support limited, many operators now face shrinking spare-part inventories, static software updates, and growing detection gaps that jeopardize airspace security.
To address this support gap, AirSight is offering a 10,000 credit toward a new three-year agreement for AirGuard Essential in exchange for any legacy Aeroscope unit, regardless of the original vendor that deployed it. This offer gives Aeroscope owners a clear, cost-effective path away from stranded, unsupported hardware and into a platform that is actively developed, fully supported, and built to keep pace with evolving drone technologies and regulations.
AirGuard Essential delivers more than a one-for-one replacement by combining enhanced RF sensing with Remote ID detection in a dual-layer architecture. It preserves robust DJI detection and adds support for newer DJI transmission protocols that legacy Aeroscopes may miss. The solution also extends coverage to additional manufacturers, including Autel, Skydio, Parrot, and custom RF links such as ELRS and Crossfire. This broader compatibility helps ensure that security teams maintain visibility into an increasingly diverse and Remote ID–compliant drone ecosystem, capturing FAA‑mandated broadcast signals from nearly all modern drones to keep pace with evolving U.S. regulations.
Beyond basic detection, AirGuard Essential is built to provide actionable intelligence on both drones and pilots. Its dual-layer tracking approach offers real-time insight into the aircraft and operator locations, whether the drone is transmitting via proprietary RF or broadcasting Remote ID, enabling more informed investigation, escalation, and response.
