dnata Launches High-Tech Cargo Command Centre at Dubai Airports

dnata has launched an enhanced Cargo Integrated Command Centre (CICC) in Dubai, bringing operational data, technology and decision-making capabilities together to support its growing cargo operations across Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC).

Located at dnata’s DXB hub, the CICC provides teams with a centralised view of cargo operations across both airports, helping them anticipate operational requirements, coordinate resources and respond quickly to changing conditions.

Supporting a million-tonne cargo operation

The CICC oversees an operation that handled more than one million tonnes of cargo, 189,000 flight movements and 46,000 truck movements during the 2025-26 financial year.

The facility is designed to provide greater visibility across this complex operation, supporting coordination between teams, facilities and activities across both Dubai airports as dnata prepares for continued growth in cargo volumes and operational complexity.

Real-time data for faster decisions

At the heart of the CICC is dnata’s internally developed operational dashboard, which consolidates critical information and refreshes every 10 seconds to provide teams with a near real-time view of operations.

The centre draws on dnata’s One Cargo management system, which reflects operational activities and transactions in real time, alongside its Appointment and Dock Management system, providing visibility of truck movements across both airports.

Data from Calogi, dnata’s cargo community platform, is also integrated into the command centre, helping teams oversee landside activities and ancillary services, including last-mile delivery.

Together, the systems enable CICC teams to monitor activity across dnata’s cargo network, identify potential bottlenecks and coordinate action across facilities and operational teams.

A single view across DXB and DWC

With a comprehensive view of the cargo journey, CICC teams can make faster and better-informed decisions around workload, capacity and resource allocation. The integrated approach is intended to support the smooth movement of cargo through dnata’s facilities while maintaining service levels for airline and freight-forwarding customers.

Designed to support future growth

The CICC forms part of dnata’s wider investment in technology and digitalisation across its Dubai cargo operations.

Recent initiatives include the use of autonomous drones for warehouse inventory processes, which dnata says have delivered more than 99% accuracy in shipment tracking, and a centralised cargo screening control room developed with Dubai Police that enables six X-ray screening machines at DXB to be remotely operated and monitored from a single location.

The new command centre has been designed as a scalable model capable of evolving alongside dnata’s expanding cargo operations and supporting increasing capacity across the UAE.
