German airport operator Fraport plans to raise its fees and is in talks with airlines on the matter, German newswire dpa-AFX repoted, citing a Fraport spokesman.

The operator of the Frankfurt airport aims to lift fees by 8.4 percent from the beginning of 2010 to fund its expansion in Frankfurt and plans to file for approval for the price rise from the economy ministry of the state of Hesse next week, dpa-AFX said.

Fraport was not available for comment.
