Airtran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AAI), announced today that the airline has began its move from Concourse D to Concourse E at the Philadelphia International Airport. While the ticket counter and baggage claim will remain at concourse D, flights will operate from concourse E, gates E6 and E8.

 

Ultimately, all operations will be consolidated in concourse E in a new, state-of-the-art facility with expanded gate areas, upgraded ticket counters and easier access to security checkpoints. Baggage claim is slated to relocate to concourse E later this year and ticket counter operations are scheduled to move in the Spring of 2010.

 

AirTran Airways has been flying out of Philadelphia International Airport for the past nine years. The airline offers daily nonstop flights to Orlando and Atlanta, where passengers can connect to dozens of destinations.
