British engine maker Rolls-Royce said on Friday it had won a USD$720 million deal to supply Trent 700 engines for 10 aircraft belonging to Richard Branson's Virgin Atlantic.
Deliveries will commence in 2011, with Rolls-Royce powering six new Airbus A330s ordered by Virgin Atlantic, which has a total of 38 aircraft in its fleet. The remaining orders will be fitted to four aircraft Virgin is leasing from AerCap.
The engines are worth USD$720 million at list prices.
Rolls Royce reported a 9 percent rise in underlying first-half profit in July.
