Qatar Airways will start flights to Stuttgart next year, while also adding capacity on the Doha-Munich route.

The middle eastern airline will start flying three times weekly between its Doha hub and Stuttgart from March 2011.

Flight QR 397 leaves Doha on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 7.45am, arriving into Stuttgart at 12.40pm.

Flight QR 398 leaves Stuttgart at 3.40pm, with arrival into Doha at 11.45pm the same day.

Qayar Airways will use a two-class A319 aircrft on the route, with space for up to 110 passengers (eight in business, 102 in economy).

From next Spring, the airline will also add four flights to Munich, taking capacity up from daily flights to 11 services a week.

Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways' CEO, said  the German expansion was long-awaited.

"Securing Stuttgart and stepping up frequency to Munich, one of our most popular German routes, is a great boon for the airline. The market is there and Qatar Airways has been eager to capitalise on it," he said.

By January 2011, Qatar Airways will also have started flights to Nice, Budapest, Bucharest and Brussels.
