Incheon International Airport won the top service quality award by Airports Council International for the sixth consecutive year. The award was established in 1993, and this year marks Incheon Airport's 10th anniversary.
"We had a huge edge over our competitors thanks to the automated computer freight consignment system and drastic cut of immigration queues," said Kang Dong-suk, the inaugural president of the airport who oversaw the project since 1994. "We designed the airport with capacity for 100 million passengers." The number of international passengers exceeded 60 million for the first time last year.
