Kobe Airport to introduce large tank firefighting vehicles

The Kansai Airports Group is introducing new firefighting vehicles at Kobe Airport (KOBE)Replacing the old vehicles that have been in service at KOBE for 16 years since September 2005, the new vehicles will bring firefighting operational enhancements and a significant increase in storage capacity for firefighting and rescue equipment. The Kansai Airports Group is committed to operating its airports, always with safety and security top of mind.

Overview:

Replacement of airport fire engines
KOBE will replace by May 2022 allof its three fire engines with new ones that are manufactured by a global leading maker with an excellent track record of over 1,900 vehicles in service in more than 80 countries around the world. The new vehicles provide safer deployment rides to arrive at an accident site within two minutes of mobilization. And the HRET model vehicle is capable of discharging the extinguishing agent directly to the source of the fire without being affected by the direction of the wind even when the agent is released from a distance. Furthermore, it has a piercing nozzle to apply the suppressing agent in the interior of the aircraft, enabling firefighters to employ new tactics and conduct rapid operations.
