New route Quito-Guayaquil-Galapagos is launched

This morning, the Quito-Guayaquil-Galapagos route operated by Aeroregional was inaugurated, becoming the third airline to operate domestic flights between Quito and the Galapagos Islands.

The airline will initially operate two weekly frequencies on Tuesdays and Saturdays using Boeing 737-500 aircraft with capacity for 129 passengers and a Boeing 737-400 with capacity for 145 passengers. Depending on demand, the airline could increase frequencies in the future.

Currently, flights depart from Quito to 7 national destinations and 11 international destinations in North, Central, South America and Europe.

Ramón Miró, president and CEO of Quiport congratulated Aeroregional for the opening of this route. “In addition to the importance it has for the reactivation of tourism and air transport, we are sending the message to the world that things are being done well in Ecuador.”

Manuel Rodríguez, president of Aeroregional, said that the country is regaining confidence and that is important for reactivation. “In the coming months we will continue to announce the opening of new domestic routes,” he pointed out and recalled that the company’s strategy is aimed at the Ecuadorian passenger.
