Oktoberfest at Munich Airport

Come and celebrate the world’s biggest folk festival

World-famous Oktoberfest kicked off this past weekend in Munich. For 16 days, the sights, sounds and tastes of Oktoberfest will be also enjoyed at Munich Airport. Numerous employees swap out their uniforms for a traditional dirndl dress or lederhosen and our airport brew master offers a special festival beer created just for the occasion. Inventive Oktoberfest events and activities offer fun for the entire family. The celebrations even go airborne: for the 12th straight year, Lufthansa’s popular “Oktoberfest crew” will delight international passengers on a variety of routes by donning traditional Bavarian costumes in the airline’s corporate colors.

Oktoberfest is also celebrated in Munich Airport’s shops and restaurants. Airbräu – the airport brewery – has tapped their specially created beer Gaudium for the start of the Oktoberfest on September 21. Many shops offer special Oktoberfest clothes and souvenirs. Munich Airport expects 2.5 million passengers during the 16 days of Oktoberfest.

Note for passengers:
For the beginning of the Oktoberfest and the busiest weeks of the year, four additional security lanes will operate in Terminal 2. They are located in the south of the central security checkpoint.

Families with strollers and guests with reduced mobility can still use special entry areas at the designated access points at the central security checkpoint.
