Self-service bag drop now also in Tegel
easyJet passengers in Tegel can now also check in their luggage independently. 17 so-called self-service kiosks and nine bag drop stations have been installed in Terminal C.
This two-step process is already in use at Schönefeld Airport and has been well received by passengers there. The new services will help optimise the check-in processes and therefore reduce waiting times. This new offering is initially reserved for easyJet passengers only, but will be open to all airlines in the future.
The first station, the self-service kiosk, is used to register luggage and print the baggage label. Passengers then place their baggage on the scale and scan the QR code on their printed or digital boarding pass under the scanner. The baggage machine checks the weight of the bag and prints a self-adhesive baggage label that can then be fastened onto the bag.
At the bag drop station, passengers place their baggage on the belt. Baggage label and weight will be automatically checked before the baggage is taken away via the baggage conveyor system. The boarding pass, whether printed or digital, serves as proof for checked baggage.
