Noida International Airport to commence operations in mid-June

The first commercial flight at Noida International Airport is expected on 15 June 2026. This will mark the official commencement of flight operations and the transition to the operational phase of the airport project in India, developed and operated by Flughafen Zürich AG.

After an intensive construction and preparation period, the airport is ready to begin commercial operations. In its initial phase, Noida International Airport will feature one runway and a modern passenger terminal designed for high efficiency, short walking distances, and a high level of service quality.

IndiGo will operate the first flight from Noida International Airport, marking the start of scheduled services. Akasa Air and Air India Express will follow shortly after. Further details on flight schedules, destinations, and passenger services will be announced in due course.

Noida International Airport will play an important role in the growing air traffic around the Indian metropolis of Delhi and help relieve congestion at the existing Indira Gandhi International Airport. In a second phase, international destinations will also be served from Noida.

“The opening of Noida International Airport marks a significant milestone in our international activities. With the start of operations on 15 June, we are bringing a modern, efficient, and sustainably designed airport to one of the world’s most dynamic growth regions. Together with our partners, we look forward to playing an active role in shaping the future of aviation in India.”

Daniel Bircher, Chief International Officer, Zurich Airport Ltd.

The airport is initially designed to handle 12 million passengers per year. Over the longer term, it will be further developed in several expansion phases. In its final stage of development, two runways and a capacity of up to 70 million passengers per year are planned.

Zurich Airport Ltd. brings its extensive experience in the planning, construction, and operation of international airports to the project and is responsible for both the development and the subsequent operation of the airport.
