Plaza Premium Group Launches Global Family Programme at Four Airport Locations

Global airport hospitality leader introduces interactive kids’ zones across major international hubs in partnership with Room to Read

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has launched Plaza Petit, a new global family programme designed to improve the airport experience for children and their families through dedicated spaces for reading, play, dining and relaxation.

The programme is initially being introduced at four locations across Hong Kong, Toronto and London, with plans to expand to selected airport lounges and transit hotels across PPG’s international network.

Plaza Petit aims to make time spent at the airport more engaging for young travellers while helping parents and caregivers enjoy a more comfortable journey. Dedicated areas within participating lounges and hotels provide child-friendly spaces for activities, reading and relaxation, with children remaining under the supervision of their parents or caregivers.

A central feature of the programme is PPG’s partnership with Room to Read, a global education non-profit focused on developing children’s literacy and life skills. Each Plaza Petit zone includes a dedicated Story Corner stocked with age-appropriate books in multiple languages. Children can also access Room to Read’s Literacy Cloud digital library, which offers thousands of storybooks in 48 languages.

The programme is built around five elements: Read, Play, Discover, Taste and Relax. Activities include travel-themed activity packs, colouring materials and destination stickers designed to introduce children to different cultures. Family-friendly dining provisions include dedicated children’s menus, specialist tableware and baby-food warming services.

The spaces feature sustainable light-oak furniture, rounded safety edges, child-sized seating and interactive bookshelves.

Initial locations

The first Plaza Petit installations are being introduced at four international airport locations:

  • Hong Kong International Airport: Plaza Premium Lounge, Gate 60, Terminal 1 international departures.
  • Toronto Pearson International Airport: Plaza Premium Lounge, Terminal 3 international departures.
  • London Gatwick Airport: Plaza Premium Lounge, North Terminal departures.
  • London Heathrow Airport: Aerotel, departures, Terminal 1.

Following the initial rollout, PPG plans to introduce the programme at selected locations in Dubai, Helsinki, Jakarta, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Muscat, Phnom Penh and Rome, with further expansion across its lounge and Aerotel network.

Mei Mei Song, Chief Transformation Officer at Plaza Premium Group, said the initiative was designed to make family travel more comfortable by combining play, discovery, reading and child-friendly dining.

Dr Geetha Murali, Chief Executive Officer of Room to Read, said the partnership would help introduce children to reading while highlighting the importance of literacy in learning and navigating the world.

Each Plaza Petit installation also includes a physical donation point through which travelling families can support Room to Read’s programmes promoting childhood literacy and gender equality in education.
