Korean Air has expanded its Middle East network with a direct service between Korea and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which will commence on November 9, 2012.
The service will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Seoul/Incheon to Riyadh and then on to Jeddah. KE961 departs at 21:55 and will arrive in Riyadh at 03:10 the next day; the flight departs from Riyadh at 04:20 and arrives at Jeddah at 06:15. Return journey KE962 departs Jeddah at 11:00 and arrives at Riyadh at 12:35. It next departs at 13:55 and arrives back at Seoul/Incheon at 05:00 the next day.
The route will be operated with an A330-200 (pictured), seating 218 passengers. First class has six Kosmo suites and business class (‘Prestige’) has 24 places. All passengers will be able to use the AVOD in-flight entertainment system.
Korean Air previously operated flights to Jeddah and Dhahran in the 1970s and 1980s.
