Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) has awarded a three-year contract, with two two-year options, to facilities and energy management provider GSH Group Inc. The contract is for the provision of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) operations and maintenance services at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and Martin State Airport (MTN), both in the USA.
Under the agreement, worth approximately $7.5 million annually, GSH Group will deliver an operations and maintenance solution covering all HVAC systems, including central utility plant, building management system, fire alarms and water treatment services. According to GSH Group, it was appointed based on its technical capability, including its mechanical expertise and use of leading-edge mobile technology.
The company will provide mechanical and electrical services including all planned preventative, routine and emergency maintenance requirements at both airports. A team of 47 management, administrative and engineering professionals will handle all aspects of the contract and provide on-site support 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
