Bromma Stockholm Airport has had its climate work certified for the fourth year running at the highest level of 3+ by the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) programme. The certification is for a three-year period and indicates the airport meets the requirements for working according to a long-term plan to reduce its environmental impact.

Jenny Svärd, environmental and quality manager at Bromma Stockholm Airport, said, “We are very pleased and proud to get this certification as proof that we work hard with a focus on results in our environmental work and give high priority to environmental issues at the airport and at Swedavia.”

Bromma Stockholm is working together with Swedavia’s other airports to achieve the objective of running operations that produce zero fossil carbon dioxide emissions by 2020.

Bromma Stockholm Airport has been approved for a three-year period, which means the airport is certified through to June 2016, when a new certification process will be completed in order to maintain the accreditation. Airports usually apply for certification one year at a time.

ACA is an institutionally endorsed, carbon management certification standard for airports. Bromma Stockholm Airport achieved 3+ carbon neutrality for direct emissions by offsetting.
