Moscow Domodedovo Airport has completed its preparations for the testing autumn-winter period starting on October 27.

Special equipment has been prepared, buildings and airport facilities have been checked, necessary reagents have been purchased, and a de-icing fluid reserve has been created ready for the period.

The measures taken will ensure smooth operation of the air harbor during the freezing winter conditions at Domodedovo.

More than 3,000 pieces of equipment for ground handling including 35 different types of specialised machines and a 22-strong deicer fleet are at the ready.

The car fleet is equipped with motor graders, compact public cleansing vehicles, tractors, snow blowers as well as trailed-type brushing machines effectively cleaning the runway of snow.

Domodedovo is the largest airport in Russia, and in 2012 it served 28.2 million passengers and last year it became one of three European airports with the highest dynamic development.
