New self-service automated passport control (APC) kiosks at Seattle Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) are expected to speed up the customs entry process for US and Canadian citizens.

According to Sea-Tac operator the Port of Seattle, passengers’ waiting time will be cut in half once the APC kiosks are operational.

Customs and border protection officials will be on hand tomorrow to demonstrate to the media the new service before they are first used by travellers.

They will showcase them in the Federal Inspections Services area, also known as customs, which is located in the south satellite of Sea-Tac.

Sea-Tac is the 15th largest airport in the US and it will be the fifth US airport to use the APC’s.
