SSP has been awarded a seven-year contract worth €42m (£34.6m) to run nine outlets at Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos.

In the main terminal building, level 2, landside departure area, there will be a 500m² food court, featuring a number of international brands as well as concepts designed to reflect the local cuisine.

The food court will include SSP's French brasserie brand Le Grand Comptoir (pictured), Greek-themed Plate’a, up-scale bakery brand Panopolis, pizza, pasta and panini outlet Negroni, and Asian concept Yum Cha, which offers sushi, maki and other Asian style foods. A salad bar, a juice bar and a ‘grab and go’ area will complete the line-up.

On the Mezzanine level landside there will be an Italian Restaurant called La Pasteria, which will serve authentic Italian dishes, and there will also be a Flocafe coffee lounge.

Commenting on the new deal, Kate Swann, CEO of SSP, said, “Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos serves a large and growing number of international passengers, and we are delighted to be investing in this important European destination.”

The new restaurants and cafés welcomed their first customers in March 2014.
