Schiphol Group issues tenders for pier and airside development

Schiphol Group, the operator of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in the Netherlands, has published a call for tenders for the design of a new ‘pier of the future’ and airside area.

The group published the call for tenders on the Dutch government’s online tendering system, TenderNed, where it is listed as publication 79843. The tender is being issued to help Schiphol further its position as a multimodal hub and requires partners that can contribute creative ideas on how the airport can achieve its plans in a cost-effective and efficient manner.

The project involves designing a new flexible pier located near Cargo Station 1, that separates the various passenger flows, offers sufficient waiting area space with sufficient seating, and can facilitate the boarding and deboarding processes. The pier should be operational by late 2019.

The project also involves the creation of a new airside area with various aircraft parking stands for multiple aircraft types, as well as new taxiways, perimeter roads and a temporary corridor connecting the new pier and the existing Pier B.

The European call for tenders can be found at TenderNed and on Tenders Electronic Daily.
