HungaroControl technologies at WAC, Madrid – SEAFRA Real-Time Simulation in CRDS; new Albcontrol training in EPC

Hungary’s air navigation service provider HungaroControl, with its research and development unit CRDS will showcase its innovative technologies at the World ATM Congress in Madrid, where the Free Route Airspace, Remote Tower, CPDLC, PBN, the MergeStrip tool technologies will be presented at the HungaroControl booth.

In CRDS, in March 2016 SEAFRA RTS (South-East Axis Free Route Airspace Real Time Simulation) will be validated.

The joint international ATS Academy of HungaroControl and Entry Point North, Entry Point Central (EPC) will perform air traffic controller’s emergency training for 75 Albanian ATCOs in Budapest. This third-party training is the most significant since EPC’s foundation.

HungaroControl’s Centre of Research, Development and Simulation (CRDS) plays an important role in HungaroControl’s innovation efforts. Operating Central Europe’s largest ATC simulation facility, CRDS not only supports HungaroControl but also offers validation-based solutions to other ANSPs. With the help of fast-time and real-time simulations, CRDS’ validation methodology helps maximise benefits in terms of capacity, efficiency and the environment – and minimise safety-related risks.

The SEAFRA (South-East Axis Free Route Airspace) concept will be validated in HungaroControl CRDS, in March 2016.CCL (Croatia Control), SMATSA (Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services) and BHANSA (Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency) are planning to introduce free route airspace without time restrictions. Тhe provision of this study is for improving the implementation of cross-border free route planning concept and validating its impact on airspace sector configuration.

This spring Entry Point Central (EPC) will perform air traffic controller’s emergency training for Albanian ATCOs. The tender has been won by Entry Point North Group. The 75 ATCOs will be trained in Budapest, in EPC which is the joint international ATS Academy of HungaroControl and Entry Point North. This third-party training is the most significant since EPC’s foundation.

Hungarian Free Route Airspace, Remote Tower, CPDLC, the KFOR project, the MergeStrip tool and PBN technologies will be presented at the HungaroControl booth (no. 1216) at the World ATM Congress, Madrid.
