Ostend-Bruges Airport opens renovated hospitality area and expanded VIP lounge
Investment enhances passenger comfort ahead of the summer holiday season
With the summer holiday season approaching, Ostend-Bruges Airport and catering partner Erasmus Catering have opened their newly renovated hospitality area and expanded VIP lounge. Both areas underwent extensive refurbishment this spring. Through this investment, the airport continues to focus on comfort, quality and a stress-free travel experience for its passengers.
Following the first redevelopment of the departure zone in 2017, which included the addition of a shop and catering outlet, the hospitality area has now received a complete makeover. A redesigned layout and fully renewed interior create a calmer, more comfortable and more premium environment for travellers.
“At Ostend-Bruges Airport, the holiday begins the moment you arrive at the airport,” says Nathan De Valck, CEO of Ostend-Bruges Airport. “We continue to invest in a smooth, pleasant and personal travel experience. Travellers deliberately choose Ostend because of its convenience: nearby parking, short walking distances, fast check-in and no long security queues. Anyone departing from Ostend enjoys a relaxed start to their holiday without the typical stress of a large airport. We want to continue strengthening that experience.”
Erik Van Welzen, CEO of Erasmus Catering, adds: “With this renovation we are investing not only in a more modern and attractive food and beverage environment, but also in a noticeably broader and more varied range for our travellers. We also continue to invest in the quality and overall experience of our offering. In this way we actively contribute to the further development and future of the airport.”
Expanded VIP lounge
The VIP lounge has also undergone a major upgrade and has been significantly enlarged. The renewed lounge offers additional space, enhanced comfort and a quiet, stylish environment where passengers can relax or work before departure.
Passengers travelling through TUI’s VIP Selection programme automatically receive access to the lounge, while other passengers can easily purchase access at the airport.
Travellers deliberately choose Ostend
The improvements respond directly to passenger expectations. According to a recent customer satisfaction survey, 84% of travellers rated their experience at Ostend-Bruges Airport as good to very good.
“Passengers consciously choose our airport because of our service, short walking distances and quick processing times,” says De Valck. “We place great emphasis on passenger comfort, and that approach is clearly appreciated. With the renovated hospitality area and the larger VIP lounge, we are making the travel experience even more enjoyable.”
Ostend-Bruges Airport is now fully prepared to welcome holidaymakers this summer under the best possible conditions. Supported by a 5.3% increase in seat capacity from TUI fly, the airport expects a busy summer season in which travellers can once again count on a smooth, comfortable and carefree start to their holiday.
